Biographie / Biography
Peter Jansen, born in the Netherlands 1956.
Artist/sculptor since 1987, exhibitions in The Netherlands, Germany, France, Japan, USA.
From traditional craftsmanship I went over the last two years
to the computer as my “main workspace”, computer-video-animation, sculpting.
Description
The sculpture consists of three parts, two visible towers wich give form to the third part, the space (= light) between the two, wich in fact is the main thing.
Those three forms are also related to each other by the divine section at the place where the unseen has its largest horizontal diameter.
I desighned the current version this summer in Rhino wanting to know how it would look if I would make the form out of wood or steel.
Because I was very enthousiastic about the renderings I decided to make a real version in wood by hand, 362 x 274 x 140 cm, and another version as laser gravure in crystal, 6 x 6 x 9cm.
Commentaire / Statement
As an artist I am working with “frozen movements”, the forms are abstract or with little figuration of human body with geometric forms.
