Notre amie et consœur la Pr. Mary NEUBAUER (Arizona State Uinversity) a proposé à plusieurs artistes de la sculpture numérique, et donc à certains membres d'Ars Mathematica, de participer à l'exposition "The Speculative Object" qu'elle a organisée avec la plasticienne finlandaise Hanna MAKKONEN, dans le cadre de The 9th International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art  (ICCCIA), symposium présenté à Berlin et à Brandebourg du 15 au 20 septembre 2022.

Nous présentons ici un petit reportage en images sur cette manifestation, en adressant tous nos remerciements à Mary, Hanna, et à l'équipe de l'université HTW de Berlin.
Our friend and colleague Pr. Mary NEUBAUER (Arizona State University) proposed to several artists of digital sculpture, and therefore to certain members of Ars Mathematica, to participate in the exhibition "The Speculative Object" which she organized with Finnish visual artist Hanna MAKKONEN, as part of The 9th International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art (ICCCIA), symposium presented in Berlin and Brandenburg from September 15 to 20, 2022.

We present here a small photo report on this event, with all our thanks to Mary, Hanna, and the team of the HTW University of Berlin.

The Speculative Object explores emergent sculptural possibilities through an array of technologies. It answers the growing imperative to develop capabilities to disseminate singular artworks across a variety of venues, from traditional gallery spaces to virtual worlds to portable devices. The artworks in this exhibition will begin as digital files, move into the historically collectible and archival medium of cast metal or newer 3D print mediums, then move back out of their material iterations into further new modalities. The results will be multiple, scalable, accessible manifestations of each of the artworks, which will allow the viewer to experience sculptural object in real-world as well as virtual settings.
